We have officially kicked off our Geospatial Data Analytics Professional Training, and Weekend 1 of 3 has been all about practical, hands-on learning.
Participants are getting started with QGIS, learning how to work with geographic data and turn it into clear and meaningful map visualisations. Throughout the sessions, we are exploring how geospatial data can be applied to real-world areas such as health, road infrastructure, facility allocation, and other location-based planning and analysis needs.
The focus is not just on learning concepts, but on putting them into practice. Participants are actively working throughout the sessions, creating maps, exploring datasets, and applying the tools they learn in real time.
With the support of our facilitators and co-facilitators, participants receive guidance throughout the practical sessions, ensuring that everyone stays engaged and gets the support they need to keep progressing.
Already, participants have successfully visualised more than five different maps, marking a strong start to the training.
And this is only the first of three weekends. There is still much more to explore as we continue building practical skills in geospatial data analysis, visualisation, and mapping.
Weekend 1 is just the beginning.
