DATA+ Rwanda Featured on Isango Star TV’s The True Service Show

Karara Benon, CEO and Founder of DATA+ Rwanda, was recently featured live on Isango Star TV’s The True Service Show, where he shared an insightful perspective on the journey, impact, and long-term vision of DATA+ over the past five years. The interview provided a compelling look into how a locally founded initiative has grown into a respected and trusted platform for professional training and data-driven solutions in Rwanda and beyond.

During the conversation, Benon reflected on the origins of DATA+, which began with a clear and pressing objective: addressing the data skills gap that continues to affect many professionals and institutions. At the time of its founding, access to practical, high-quality, and affordable data training was limited, leaving many individuals with theoretical knowledge but lacking the hands-on skills required in the workplace. DATA+ was created to change that reality by focusing on practical learning that directly translates into professional competence.

Over the years, DATA+ Rwanda has evolved significantly, expanding both its reach and its impact. What started as a focused initiative has grown into a dynamic platform that integrates professional training, research consultancy, and technology solutions. Today, the organization is recognized for equipping learners with job-ready skills that can be applied immediately in real-world contexts, whether in the private sector, government institutions, or development organizations.

The impact of this growth is reflected in the numbers. DATA+ has successfully trained over 2,000 professionals and students from Rwanda and across the region, demonstrating both demand and trust in its programs. In addition, the organization has developed more than 10 specialized courses covering key areas such as data analytics, monitoring and evaluation, project management, and emerging technologies. These courses are carefully designed to align with market needs, ensuring that participants gain relevant and applicable skills.

Another major milestone highlighted during the interview is the development of a fully functional Learning Management System (LMS). This platform plays a critical role in making DATA+ training more accessible and flexible, allowing learners to study at their own pace regardless of location. Built with the realities of low-bandwidth environments in mind, the LMS ensures that high-quality learning is not limited by infrastructure constraints, further extending the reach of DATA+ across different regions.

A central theme of the discussion was DATA+ Rwanda’s strong emphasis on customer experience. Benon emphasized that the organization goes beyond simply delivering training content it prioritizes how learners engage with that content and the outcomes they achieve. The training model is intentionally designed to provide continuous support, combining the expertise of a lead facilitator with the accessibility of co-facilitators. This approach ensures that participants receive both high-level guidance and practical, hands-on assistance throughout the course, creating a more interactive and effective learning environment.

The interview also shed light on the diversity of programs offered by DATA+. These courses are tailored to serve a wide range of audiences, including university students looking to build foundational skills, working professionals aiming to upskill or transition into data-related roles, and organizations seeking to strengthen the capacity of their teams. By addressing these different needs, DATA+ has positioned itself as a versatile partner in professional development.

Looking ahead, Benon shared a forward-looking vision for DATA+ Rwanda. As the demand for data-driven decision-making continues to grow across industries, the organization aims to expand its offerings, strengthen its technology solutions, and deepen its impact both within Rwanda and across the African continent. The focus remains on staying relevant to the evolving needs of the workforce while maintaining the high standards that have defined its success so far.

At its core, DATA+ Rwanda continues to operate with a clear and consistent mission: to empower individuals and institutions with the skills, tools, and confidence needed to make informed, data-driven decisions. As highlighted during the interview, this mission is not only about education but also about enabling meaningful impact helping professionals contribute more effectively to their organizations, improve decision-making processes, and support the broader development of a knowledge based economy.
